the town
new paradise is still wild and a little lawless in some parts. districts don't have official names yet (although votes may happen soon!) all of the groups of beings are challenged with agreeing on a way to live together.

the districts:

the palace district

bright. welcoming. lavish. strong mediterranean tones. the palace district is by far the most heavily inhabited area of new paradise and home to town central—which is arguably more modern and the only place you really need a car. there is also a grand museum, which holds all the artifacts found in the new land, as well as any relics that older beings have donated.

the port

golden age of piracy never died! sort of. if you need to buy, sell, or trade goods this is the place as it is home to the kalos market which runs weekly. the port is full of cobblestone and some of the finest woodworking you'll ever see. and it's certainly not short of pubs to go drinking nor chances to witness a casual sword fight. the port itself is home to many a water beings and many a mystery. there's no indication of just how deep it is, and it's rumored that some ships have been swallowed up and never to be seen again while crossing.

district one

a collection of tropical islands nestled between district two and the palace district. much slower, calmer way of life. 75% of new paradise's fruits come from here. the sands are soft and warm, and scattered with plentiful shells and colorful seaglass, gems, and pearls that wash up from the various sea life. rightfully the top vacation spot. sometimes the ground (and even water) feels as though they're pulsating. could be magical, though this district is also home to a semi-active volcano.
the forge
a network of crystal caves lace their way through the ground just beneath the islands, and a forge was built on this ffont of power. are the rumblings due to volcanic murmurs or magical mining?

district two

welcome to the jungle; there are fun and games, but also biodiversity and deeply hidden secrets here. a warm and humid climate with the densest vegetation and collection of waterfalls you will ever experience! there are mystical ruins yet to be identified and claimed.

district three

an arid oasis. there are no giant sandworms here (that we know of) but there are dangerous pits likely from old collapsed mines. very morroccan and egyptian in aesthetics. deceptively larger than it looks on a map. beware of mirages.

the observatory

at the tallest heights, built into the mountains that form the backbone of the town, there's a bronze and wrought iron observatory. scholars flock there to watch the stars (how are they the same as earth's?), monitor magic levels (and put out an alarm if they dip too low!), research, and teach and attend university classes. students are welcome to sign up for learning of all kinds. brave adventurers may also visit here to accept commissions to find things for scholars, or go on quests of discovery in the wilderness. the cartographers' guild is always hiring.

the port

to the east of town is a clear, blue sea. no one is quite sure where it ends or how deep it is. sea gods and creatures have built residences below the waves, but no one dares to go too far, because ships keep sailing beyond the horizon, never to return. why could that be? no one seems to navigate the waters as successfully as the pirates do, who frustrate licensed ships by spiriting their goods away to their secret hideout.
